Mr. Martinez is a Principal and his primary responsibilities at Marlin include conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Mr. Martinez’s recent transactions include FCTI and ProLogic. Prior to joining Marlin, Mr. Martinez worked for Gores Technology Group (now the Gores Group) in New York where he engaged in the negotiation and execution of acquisitions, divestitures and financings, primarily in the technology and telecom sectors. During that time, Mr. Martinez was involved in the successful acquisitions of Proxicom and Global Tel*Link. Prior to Gores, Mr. Martinez worked at Bay Harbour Management, a New York-based hedge fund with $1+ billion under management, where he focused on distressed security investing, control investments and special situations. Prior thereto, Mr. Martinez worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse in the Media and Telecom Group. Mr. Martinez earned a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law and a B.S. in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he graduated cum laude.
