Mr. Foster is an Operating Partner focused on investment opportunities
in the software and service sectors, leveraging over 20 years of
technology management experience. Mr. Foster’s primary responsibilities
include deal sourcing, due diligence and business transformation as well
as providing operational support and oversight to Marlin portfolio
companies.
Prior to joining Marlin, Mr. Foster was an investment and operating
adviser to leading private equity firms focused on investments in
mid-market software and service companies. In this role, Mr. Foster
completed over 20 projects with Battery Ventures (Quovadx, Rogue Wave
Software, DecisionPoint Software), Golden Gate Capital (Geac, Systems
Union), Francisco Partners (Ex Libris, Mincom) and Warburg Pincus. As an
operating executive, Mr. Foster served as CEO of Rogue Wave Software and
DecisionPoint Software and COO and interim CFO of Mincom Ltd.
Previously, Mr. Foster served in senior marketing, sales and general
management roles at leading software companies including Oracle,
Informatica, CrossWorlds Software and Connect Inc. Mr. Foster began his
career as a consultant at Booz, Allen and Hamilton, a global strategy
and technology consulting firm. Mr. Foster earned an MBA from Harvard
Business School and a dual BA in Economics and Political Science from
Stanford University.
