Mr. Bhagavatula is a Principal and his primary responsibilities at Marlin include originating distressed debt investment opportunities, lead analysis, due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio management. Prior to joining Marlin, Mr. Bhagavatula worked as a Managing Director of the Special Assets Group at Republic Financial Corporation, a middle market private investment firm, where he was responsible for investing in distressed debt of underperforming companies and real estate. Prior to joining Republic Financial, he was a Vice President at Resilience Capital Partners, a middle market special situations private equity firm, where he was focused on acquiring distressed companies through debt and equity. Prior thereto, Mr. Bhagavatula worked as a Management Advisor at Chevron for the Corporate Supply Chain Group and Treasury, was a Manager at KPMG/Bearing Point in the Financial Services Group and also held senior management positions at both mid-sized and smaller companies. Mr. Bhagavatula earned an MBA in Banking and Finance from the Weatherhead School of Management, an MS in Industrial Engineering from Cleveland State University and a BE in Chemical Engineering from BITS Pilani, India where he graduated with honors. Mr. Bhagavatula is a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified Management Accountant.
