David McGovern

David McGovern is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Marlin Equity Partners, a global investment firm he established in 2005, and serves as the Chairman of the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees. He is actively involved in directing, promoting and overseeing Marlin’s strategic vision, ensuring adherence to the firm’s core investment principles and firm governance, and providing insight and guidance on all investment and portfolio related decisions.

Mr. McGovern has been a private equity investor since 1999 and has significant expertise in the M&A process, corporate strategy, turnarounds, acquisition integration and realizations through sales, public offerings and recapitalizations. Marlin’s investment philosophy centers around a fundamental set of principles focused on partnering with management to execute strategies for long-term value creation. Since Marlin’s inception, Mr. McGovern and the Marlin investment team have successfully initiated and executed a model of investing that seeks to provide flexible solutions to businesses that can benefit from the firm’s strong capital base, deep industry relationships and extensive network of operational resources.

Prior to his private equity career, Mr. McGovern was a senior investment banker at CIBC and an attorney at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was an editor of The Georgetown Law Journal (law review), and a B.S. in Finance with Beta Gamma Sigma honors from Louisiana State University.

Nick Kaiser

Mr. Kaiser is a Co-Founder and Senior Managing Director of Marlin Equity Partners where he is engaged in all aspects of managing the firm, including the oversight of all investment related activities and decisions. He helped to establish Marlin with David McGovern in 2005 and has worked closely with Mr. McGovern as a private equity investor since 2000. As a member of the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees, Mr. Kaiser is responsible for developing and pursuing strategic initiatives, originating and qualifying investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, executing transactions, and directing portfolio construction and management. His transaction experience includes numerous enterprise software acquisitions, take-privates, corporate divestitures and growth equity investments. Mr. Kaiser earned a B.A. in Economics-Mathematics, with honors, from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Peter Spasov

Mr. Spasov is Senior Managing Director of Marlin Equity Partners where he is engaged in all aspects of managing the firm, including the oversight of all investment related activities and decisions. As a member of the firm’s Executive and Investment Committees, Mr. Spasov is responsible for developing and pursuing strategic initiatives, originating and qualifying investment opportunities, structuring transactions, overseeing investments, setting and implementing investment policy, directing portfolio construction and management, and overseeing the firm’s operations. Mr. Spasov has over 20 years of broad-based institutional investment and private equity experience, and prior to joining Marlin in 2005, he was at Northrop Grumman, which manages over $30 billion in investments, where he was primarily responsible for private equity and real estate investing. Mr. Spasov earned a B.A. in Economics-Accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara and previously was the President of the Southern California Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association. He also currently serves as an active board member for numerous Marlin portfolio companies.

Michael Anderson

Mr. Anderson is a Managing Director and member of the flagship fund Investment Committee. His primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Kohlberg & Company where he engaged in the execution of a range of investments covering corporate divestitures, operational restructurings and management buyouts. Prior thereto, Mr. Anderson worked at Harris Williams & Co. where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic advisory initiatives. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.

Alex Beregovsky

Mr. Beregovsky is a Managing Director and is actively engaged in the flagship fund Investment Committee. His primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Vector Capital, where he focused on identifying and executing investments across the software, internet and tech-enabled services sectors. Prior thereto, Mr. Beregovsky was an investment professional at Viking Global Investors, a long/short equity fund, and previous to that, at Francisco Partners, where he specialized in technology buyouts. He began his career as a quantitative consultant at Goldman Sachs and an investment banker at Banc of America Securities in the Financial Institutions Group. Mr. Beregovsky earned an M.B.A from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar and a B.A. in mathematics, economics and computer science from New York University, where he graduated summa cum laude.

Peter Chung

Mr. Chung is a Managing Director and member of the flagship fund Investment Committee. His primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin in 2008, he worked at Banc of America Securities where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and other strategic advisory initiatives. Prior thereto, Mr. Chung worked at SG Cowen. He earned a B.S. in Engineering Management Systems from Columbia University.

Jan-Olivier Fillols

Mr. Fillols is a Managing Director and his primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at 3i Group where he focused on private equity investments across a broad range of sectors and geographies. Prior thereto, he worked as an investment banker at Jefferies where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and public market transactions. Before his career in finance, Mr. Fillols held software development positions at diagnostics company Roche and telecoms provider Ascom. He earned a M.Sc. in Finance and Economics from the London School of Economics and a M.Sc. in Communication Systems from the Swiss Institute of Technology (EPFL).

Ryan Wald

Mr. Wald is a Managing Director and member of the Heritage fund Investment Committee. His primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. He has been a private equity investor since 1999, and prior to joining Marlin, Mr. Wald was an Investment Committee member and Managing Director responsible for leading the Technology, Media & Telecom vertical at The Gores Group. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors for numerous highly successful businesses, including Alpheus Communications, Diagnostic Health, Elo Touch Solutions, Enterasys Networks, Global Tel*Link, Harris Broadcast, Lineage Power, Real Software, Stock Building Supply, VincoTech and Wire One. Prior thereto, he was an investment banker at CIBC Oppenheimer focused on mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Wald earned a B.B.A. in Finance from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.

Doug Bayerd

Mr. Bayerd is a Principal and his primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he focused on the software and services verticals at Golden Gate Capital and was engaged in the execution of a range of investments covering growth equity, corporate divestitures, operational restructurings and management buyouts. Prior thereto, Mr. Bayerd worked in the private equity group at Oaktree Capital Management, a Los Angeles based investment management firm. He earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Florian Hofmann

Mr. Hofmann is a Principal and his primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Rhône Capital where he focused on identifying and executing investments, including carve-outs, leveraged buyouts, add-on acquisitions, recapitalizations and exits across a broad range of sectors and geographies. Prior thereto, Mr. Hofmann was an investment professional at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, a middle-market focused private equity fund. He began his career as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley based in London in the Media & Telecom Group, and at Raiffeisen Investment, a mergers and acquisitions boutique. He earned a M.Sc. in Finance and Business Administration from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Ryan Laurin

Mr. Laurin is a Principal and his primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal origination and qualification. Prior to joining Marlin in 2007, he worked at Harvey & Company, an Orange County-based merchant bank. While at Harvey, Mr. Laurin originated and evaluated investment opportunities for middle-market private equity funds and strategic buyers. He earned a B.A. in International Studies from the University of California, Irvine where he graduated cum laude.

Nicholas Lukens

Mr. Lukens’ is a Principal and his primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Vector Capital where he specialized in management buyouts, take-private transactions, corporate divestitures and operational restructurings across the application, infrastructure, industrial and consumer technology sectors. Prior thereto, Mr. Lukens worked at Merrill Lynch in the technology investment banking group, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and other strategic advisory initiatives. Mr. Lukens earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Georgetown University.

Roland Pezzutto

Mr. Pezzutto’s is a Principal and his primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Investcorp where he focused on private equity investments, including carve-outs, leveraged buyouts, add-on acquisitions and exits across a broad range of sectors and geographies.  Prior thereto, Mr. Pezzutto worked as an investment banker at Deutsche Bank where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and public market transactions. He earned an M.Sc. in International Business from HEC School of Management in Paris, France and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Università Cattolica in Milan, Italy.

Nathan Pingelton

Mr. Pingelton is a Principal and his primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Before joining Marlin’s investment team, he served as a Director of Financial Due Diligence within Marlin’s Operations Group. Prior thereto, Mr. Pingelton worked at KPMG in the Transaction Services Practice and Assurance Practice. During that time, he advised clients on transactions in a broad spectrum of industries including basic materials, healthcare and consumer goods. He earned a B.B.A. and Masters of Accountancy from the University of Oklahoma.

Evan Smith

Mr. Smith is a Principal and his primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal origination and qualification. Prior to joining Marlin in 2010, he worked at Harvey & Company, an Orange County-based merchant bank. While at Harvey, Mr. Smith originated and evaluated investment opportunities for middle-market private equity funds and strategic buyers. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Nicole Banks

Ms. Banks’ primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and support and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, she worked at Providence Equity where she specialized in leveraged buyouts globally across the media, communications, education and information industries. Prior thereto, Ms. Banks worked at Lazard Freres & Co. in the Technology, Media & Telecom Group, where she focused on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and other strategic advisory initiatives. Ms. Banks earned a B.B.A. in Finance from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

Bill Hurley

Mr. Hurley’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and support and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Great Hill Partners where he focused on originating, evaluating and managing investments across the software, business services and financial technology verticals, and supporting existing portfolio investments. Prior thereto, he worked at UBS Investment Bank in the Media and Communications Group, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and other strategic advisory initiatives.   Mr. Hurley earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Finance from Babson College.

Matt Johnson

Mr. Johnson’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and support and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Vista Equity Partners, a private equity firm focused on software and technology enabled businesses, where he specialized in domestic and international leveraged buyouts, corporate divestitures, add-on acquisitions and portfolio company operations. Prior thereto, Mr. Johnson worked at Barclays Capital, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, corporate divestitures, public and private equity financings, and other strategic advisory initiatives. Mr. Johnson earned a B.S. in Finance from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.

Cody Kase

Mr. Kase’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and support and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin in 2008, he was a student at the University of New Mexico where he earned a B.A. in Business Administration with honors. While at the University of New Mexico, Mr. Kase was a two time Academic-All American and team captain of the football team.

Peter Kimmey

Mr. Kimmey’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and support and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Harris Williams & Co. in the Technology, Media & Telecom Group where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, and equity financings. Mr. Kimmey earned a B.A. in Financial Economics from Claremont McKenna College.

Jason Kwon

Mr. Kwon’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and support and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Sony Pictures Entertainment in the Corporate Development Group. Natasha Mann

Ms. Mann’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and support and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, she worked at TSG Consumer Partners and, prior thereto, at TPG Growth, where she specialized in leveraged buyouts and growth equity investments across the consumer, technology and telecom sectors. Previously, Ms. Mann worked at Deutsche Bank in the Technology, Media & Telecom Group where she focused on mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and other strategic advisory initiatives. Hemal Patel

Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Parthenon Capital Partners where he focused on identifying and executing investments across the software, business services and financial services verticals and supporting existing portfolio investments. Grant Schachter

Dan Spradling

Konstantin von Bismarck

Mr. von Bismarck’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and support and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at BC Partners where he focused on technology, healthcare, media, and retail investments. Mr. von Bismarck earned an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, an M.P.P. from the Harvard Kennedy School and a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.

Mike Wilkinson

Mr. Wilkinson’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and support and portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Deloitte in the Transaction Services department, where he specialized in providing financial due diligence to private equity and corporate clients. Mr. Wilkinson earned an M.A. in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.

Max Bissegger

Mr. Bissegger’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal origination and qualification. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Raytheon Company as a member of Raytheon’s Leadership Development Program where he specialized in program execution, financial planning and analysis, and internal audit. Mr. Bissegger earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.

Christopher Clasper

Mr. Clasper’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support, transaction execution and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Terra Firma Capital Partners and Deloitte’s Management Consultancy business in London. Mr. Clasper earned a B.S. in History from Oxford University, where he graduated with First Class Honors.

Daniel Cole

Mr. Cole’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal origination and qualification. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Platinum Equity, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, as a member of the firm’s business development group based out of London. While at Platinum, Mr. Cole originated and evaluated middle-market investment opportunities throughout Europe. Prior thereto he attended Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and served as an officer in the British Army. Mr. Cole earned an M.A. in Architectural History from the University of Edinburgh.

Richard Donahue

Mr. Donahue’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support, transaction execution and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Morgan Stanley in both the Financial Sponsors and Western Region Coverage groups where he specialized in leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic advisory initiatives.  Mr. Donahue earned a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Marlo Goldstein

Ms. Goldstein’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support, transaction execution and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, she worked at Bain & Company as a management consultant.  Ms. Goldstein earned an M.B.A from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Joe Hara

Mr. Hara’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support, transaction execution and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at William Blair & Company where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and other strategic advisory initiatives across the healthcare technology and healthcare services industries. Mr. Hara earned a B.S. in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from Indiana University, where he graduated with the highest distinction.

Walter Mair

Mr. Mair’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support, transaction execution and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Boston Consulting Group where he worked in the private equity and corporate development groups, and specialized in commercial buy and sell-side due diligence and portfolio projects across a number of industries including consumer, insurance, banking, industrial goods and Technology, Media & Telecom. Mr. Mair earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge and Master’s degrees in Public Policy at the London School of Economics and the University of Chicago, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.

Wolfgang Mayrhofer

Mr. Mayrhofer’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal origination and qualification. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Skillcapital where he focused on deal origination, transaction advisory and executive search for global large-cap private equity firms. Prior thereto, Mr. Mayrhofer worked at IMAP, International M&A Partners, and at Heidrick & Struggles. Mr. Mayrhofer earned an M.B.A from Vienna University of Technology and an M.A. in International Economics from Claude-Bernard University Lyon and the University of Applied Sciences Kufstein.

Kieran Rafter

Mr. Rafter’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support, transaction execution and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Barclays in the investment banking division where he focused on mergers and acquisitions across a range of sectors, including technology, industrials, financial services and infrastructure. Before his career in finance, Mr. Rafter worked as a corporate lawyer at Addleshaw Goddard LLP where he focused on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and debt finance transactions. He earned a B.A. in Politics from The University of Nottingham and has completed postgraduate programs at BPP University Law School in London.

Michael Richards

Mr. Richards’ primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal origination and qualification. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Harvey & Company, an Orange County-based merchant bank. While at Harvey, Mr. Richards originated and evaluated investment opportunities for middle-market private equity funds and strategic buyers. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Financial Management from National American University where he graduated magna cum laude.

Bryan Yasukochi

Mr. Yasukochi’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support, transaction execution and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Credit Suisse where he focused on the execution of debt and equity transactions for companies across a broad range of industries. Mr. Yasukochi earned a B.S. in Economics with concentrations in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Blake Zhang

Mr. Zhang’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support, transaction execution and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Qatalyst Partners where he specialized in technology mergers and acquisitions and other strategic advisory initiatives. Previously, he was at Paine Schwartz Partners where he focused on evaluating and executing private equity investments and, prior thereto, worked in the investment banking division of Deutsche Bank. Mr. Zhang earned a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University.

Ryan Allen

Mr. Allen’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Deutsche Bank where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions across various technology sectors including software, semiconductors and telecommunications. Mr. Allen earned a B.A. in Economics with a Minor in Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles where he graduated cum laude.

Alex Barrett

Mr. Barrett’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Bain & Company where he supported the private equity group and specialized in restructurings and special situations across a number of industries.  Mr. Barrett earned an M.B.A from London Business School and a B.A. in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.

James Breen

Mr. Breen’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he specialized in leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions and debt financing activities across a range of sectors. Mr. Breen earned an A.B. in Statistics with a minor in Chemistry from Harvard University.

Sungmin Cho

Mr. Cho’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence.  Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he specialized in leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic advisory initiatives across the technology sector. Mr. Cho earned a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Iowa.

George Doran

Mr. Doran’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at McKinsey & Company where he focused on using advanced analytics to improve operational performance in companies across a range of industries, including financial services, transportation, travel and logistics, and healthcare. Mr. Doran earned an A.B. in Physics from Harvard University.

Anastasiya Elfimova

Ms. Elfimova’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal origination and qualification.  Prior to joining Marlin, she worked at TA Associates in London where she was involved in origination and execution of growth equity deals in software and other sectors across Europe. Prior thereto, Ms. Elfimova worked as an analyst at Morgan Stanley based in London in the Media & Telecom Group. Ms. Elfimova earned a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Philippe Fauquex

Mr. Fauquex’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Credit Suisse where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions advisory and financing mandates for large Swiss corporates and financial sponsors. Mr. Fauquex earned an M.Sc. in International Finance with honors from HEC Paris, and a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of St. Gallen.

Jess Foster

Mr. Foster’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at UBS Investment Bank in the Technology, Media & Telecom Group where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and other strategic advisory initiatives. Previously, Mr. Foster worked at GrowthPoint Technology Partners where he focused on mergers and acquisitions in the technology sector. Mr. Foster earned a B.S. in Finance from Brigham Young University.

Preston Hedrick

Mr. Hedrick’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Lazard Freres & Co. in the investment banking division where he specialized in restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and other strategic advisory initiatives. Mr. Hedrick’s earned an A.B.  in Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology  with a minor in Economics from Harvard University.

Cole Jaczko

Mr. Jaczko’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Lazard Freres & Co. where he focused on leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions and other strategic advisory initiatives across a variety of industries, including aerospace and defense, gaming and consumer retail. Mr. Jaczko earned a B.S. in Business Administration with honors from the University of Southern California.

Monica Kozy

Ms. Kozy’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal origination and qualification. Prior to joining Marlin, she worked at Delta-v Capital where she managed the firm’s investment sourcing, investor relations and marketing. Prior thereto, Ms. Kozy worked at HSBC where she helped build out the Global Solutions Group and was responsible for originating event financing opportunities and identifying direct investments for HSBC’s Private Client portfolio. Ms. Kozy earned a B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

 

Vladimir Malugin

Mr. Malugin’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors where he focused on investments in software and technology-enabled businesses. Mr. Malugin earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Utah.

Michael Muscheid

Mr. Muscheid’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Jefferies & Company where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, debt financings and other strategic advisory initiatives across the technology sector. Mr. Muscheid earned a B.S. in Economics and Finance from Arizona State University.

Ranieri Paternò

Mr. Paternò’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at RBC Capital Markets in the Consumer Group where he focused on sponsor-related transactions including leveraged buyouts and debt financings across a variety of verticals. Mr. Paternò earned an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from Exeter University.

Josh Ruder

Mr. Ruder’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal origination and qualification. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Gerson Lehrman Group where he was responsible for supporting business development efforts across the Western United States. Prior thereto, Mr. Ruder worked as an analyst at Research Corporation Technologies, a venture capital firm focused on investments in the healthcare and life sciences sectors. He earned a B.A. in Physics and Economics from the University of Arizona, where he graduated cum laude.

Greg Ruffini

Mr. Ruffini’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at William Blair & Company where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and other strategic advisory initiatives across the healthcare sector. Mr. Ruffini earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Indiana University.

Doug Swift

Mr. Swift’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at J.P. Morgan Cazenove in the U.K., focusing on mergers and acquisitions execution across a range of sectors including technology, financial services and retail, and prior thereto as a member of J.P. Morgan’s mergers and acquisitions execution team in New York. Mr. Swift earned a B.A. in Economics and European History from the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated magna cum laude.

Drew Tuttle

Mr. Tuttle’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at MTS Health Partners where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and equity financings across the life sciences, healthcare services and healthcare information technology sectors. Mr. Tuttle earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Kail Walker

Mr. Walker’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include deal origination and qualification. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Bainbridge Capital Advisory, a San Diego-based boutique investment bank. While at Bainbridge, Mr. Walker originated and evaluated investment opportunities for middle-market private equity funds and strategic buyers. He earned a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame.

Victor Yang

Mr. Yang’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include transaction support and conducting due diligence. Prior to joining Marlin, he worked at Lazard Freres & Co. where he specialized in leveraged buyouts and mergers and acquisitions across a range of sectors, including aerospace and defense, consumer retail and business services. Mr. Yang earned a B.A. in Business Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Barbara Luzzatto

Ms. Luzzatto is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Marlin. Her primary responsibilities include overseeing the financial, regulatory compliance and administrative functions of the Marlin funds and related entities.

Ms. Luzzatto has over 25 years of experience in finance, accounting, tax, operations, human resources, risk management and FINRA and SEC regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Marlin, she was with Saybrook Capital, LLC, a special situations focused middle-market private equity firm, where she served as the firm’s Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer for over 7 years. Ms. Luzzatto earned her B.S. in Business Administration/Accounting from the University of Missouri, Columbia. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Sang-IL Park

Mr. Park’s primary responsibilities at Marlin include investor relations support, limited partner communications, institutional fundraising and marketing activities for the firm. Prior to joining Marlin, Mr. Park was at Northrop Grumman where he was a Director of Corporate Investments for the Investments and Trust Department, which managed over $36 billion in assets. Mr. Park was primarily responsible for overseeing the alternative investments program which included developing semi-annual strategic and tactical plans, conducting due diligence, managing fund commitments and representing Northrop on advisory boards. While at Northrop, Mr. Park led or co-led aggregate commitments totaling $5 billion across 80 private equity, real estate and infrastructure partnerships. He previously was an Associate Director for WestLB Asset Management (USA), LLC. Mr. Park earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley with a minor in Business Administration and is a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association®.

Edward Richards*

Mr. Richards is a Senior Director in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on overseeing internal and third-party operating resources and developing and implementing operational best practices.

Mr. Richards has over 19 years of international experience in transactions, turnarounds and performance improvement. Previously, Mr. Richards was a partner in the transactions group at Ernst & Young, most recently serving as the head of working capital services for the Americas, where he advised private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies on value creation strategies throughout the investment lifecycle. Prior thereto, he was Vice President of Strategy & Business Development at Axon Group plc, a global technology advisory and outsourcing firm, first in Europe and later as a founding member of the Americas business unit, which he helped to grow from launch to $250 million in five years, until its acquisition by HCL in 2008. During his tenure at Axon, Mr. Richards led geographic expansion and sector growth initiatives, conducted acquisition diligence and integration activities, and oversaw transformation programs for clients worldwide.  Mr. Richards earned a B.Sc. honors degree from Bristol University and an M.B.A with distinction from Columbia Business School.

Martin Blackburn*

Mr. Blackburn is a London-based Operating Executive in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on conducting operational due diligence and providing operational support to European portfolio companies across the software and technology sectors.

Mr. Blackburn has over 25 years of experience as an executive in the software and technology-related services industries. Previously, he served as General Manager of the UK Global Technology Services (GTS) business for IBM.  Prior thereto, he was the General Manager GTS Benelux and the Chief Operating Officer for IBM’s Technology business across Europe. Before IBM, Mr. Blackburn was the Chief Operating Officer for Enterprise Services at Hewlett Packard Enterprise for the European, African and Middle East region, which employed approximately 45,000 staff and operated across 23 countries. He has also held senior leadership roles at Logica, Parity Group PLC and GEC. Mr. Blackburn is a member of the Institute of Electronic Engineers and the British Computer Society and holds an Honors Degree in Information systems and Mathematics.

Nigel Clifford*

Mr. Clifford is a Europe-based Operating Executive in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on conducting operational due diligence and providing operational support to European portfolio companies in the software and technology sectors.

Mr. Clifford has over 20 years of experience in the software and technology industries, including as CEO of six companies, three of which he successfully led to a sale. Most recently, he served as CEO of Ordnance Survey, where he led the transformation of Britain’s geospatial agency on behalf of the British government. Prior thereto, he was the CEO of ProcServe Holdings (sold to Basware) and, before that, the CEO of MicroFocus International. Mr. Clifford has also held senior leadership roles at Nokia, Symbian Software, Tertio Telecoms Limited, Cable and Wireless, Glasgow Royal Infirmary, NHS Trust and British Telecom. In addition, he has served as a non-executive board director for two publicly listed U.K. companies, Alliance Pharma and Anite. Mr. Clifford earned an M.A. in Geography from Cambridge University, an M.B.A from the University of Strathclyde and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, the Royal Geographical Society, the Chartered Institute of Management and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Prior thereto, Mr. Davis was CEO of Coremetrics, where he guided the company to become a leading provider of cloud-based software for web, social and mobile marketing and helped increase revenue by fifteen-fold before the company was acquired by IBM. In addition, he has served as the CEO or Board Member of several venture capital and private equity-backed software companies that have been successfully sold to strategic buyers, including Yahoo!, Nielson and Best Buy. Mr. Davis earned a B.S. and M.S. in Applied Mechanics from the University of California, San Diego and an M.B.A from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.

Jerry Dolinsky*

During his tenure with Retek, Mr. Dolinsky played an instrumental role in growing annual sales from $10 million to nearly $200 million, which helped lead to a successful IPO and, ultimately, the sale of Retek to Oracle Corporation. Prior thereto, he held key executive management positions at leading technology firms including Tradebeam, NxTrend, Bioplasty and ACA Data. Mr. Dolinsky earned his B.S. in Management Information Systems from Weber State University.

Mr. Elsberg has over 30 years of experience in the software, technology and tech-enabled services industries. Previously, he served as CEO of Bluegarden A/S, an exited Marlin portfolio company and leading Scandinavian provider of human capital management software solutions and services. Prior to Bluegarden, he served as the CEO of e-conomic A/S, a cloud-based bookkeeping solution for small businesses and, prior thereto, served as CEO of GN Netcom, a global headset manufacturer of the Jabra brand. In addition, Mr. Elsberg co-founded Pensio (now Altapay), an e-commerce payments management company which was successfully sold to Valitor.  He has also held senior leadership roles at Microsoft Dynamics, IBM and Aston Group. Mr. Elsberg holds a M.Sc. in Engineering from Technical University of Denmark and a B.Sc. in Marketing from Copenhagen Business School.

John Gatti*

Mr. Gatti has over 30 years of experience in the technology and aerospace & defense industries. Previously, he served as President and CEO of Palladium Energy, an exited Marlin portfolio company and global leader in highly engineered lithium-ion power solutions. Prior thereto, Mr. Gatti was President of MicroSun Technologies which was acquired by Palladium Energy in 2012. During his tenure at Palladium Energy, he led the integration of MicroSun Technologies, expanded the company into new markets and positioned the combined business for growth and profitability which ultimately resulted in the successful sale of the business.  Following the sale, Mr. Gatti was appointed President and CEO of the newly formed company which was rebranded as Inventus Power.  In addition, he has held key senior executive leadership positions at BAE Systems Inc., Armor Holdings Inc. and Raytheon Company.  Mr. Gatti earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Norwich University and a M.S. in Systems Design and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  He has previously served as a Board Member of MIT’s SDM Committee, SSCI and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology and currently serves on Norwich University’s Board of Trustees.

David Hansen*

He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX) and is an active board member of TIBCO, Egnyte and Cyrus One (NASDAQ: CONE). Robert Kunold, Jr.*

At Foster Pepper, Mr. Kunold maintained an active mergers and acquisitions practice while also serving as the firm’s Managing Partner from 2007 to 2013. He earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Washington, an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University and a J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center.

Previously, he served as the President and CEO of Apptimize, Inc., a leader in mobile A/B software testing, which he sold to Airship (formerly Urban Airship) in August 2019.  Prior thereto, he served as the President and CEO of ThreatMetrix, a leading global digital identity company, which he joined pre-product and grew to over $120 million in recurring revenue and later sold to Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions. Additionally, he was the founding President and CEO of Callidus Cloud, a leading global provider of incentive compensation management software, which he led from pre-product to an IPO in 2003. Mr. Taussig earned his B.A. in Economics from the University of Arizona.

Robert Youngjohns*

Previously, he served as EVP & General Manager of Software and Cloud at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he spearheaded HP’s new cloud strategy (HPE Helion) and led the spin-off of HP’s $8.5 billion non-core software business to Microfocus. Prior thereto, Mr. Youngjohns was President of Microsoft North America where he was responsible for sales, marketing and services totaling $25.0 billion of revenue across all product lines and channels in the United States and Canada. Additionally, he has held key executive management positions at leading technology companies including Callidus Software, Sun Microsystems and IBM. Mr. Youngjohns earned his M.A. in Physics and Philosophy from Oxford University.

Mike Nutting*

Mr. Nutting is the Chief Capital Markets Officer in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on providing corporate finance and capital markets support to prospective, new and existing portfolio companies, as well as fostering and managing relationships with debt financing providers.

Previously, he was a Managing Director, Head of Capital Markets & Corporate Finance at Glendon Partners (an affiliate of The Gores Group) where he served in a similar capacity.  Prior thereto, Mr. Nutting spent over 12 years in investment banking, most recently at Credit Suisse where he was responsible for executing capital markets, merger and acquisitions and other corporate transactions for financial sponsors and their portfolio companies. He earned a B.A. in Economics-Accounting, cum laude, from Claremont McKenna College and an M.B.A. from UCLA Anderson School of Management, and is a CFA® charterholder.

Previously, Mr. Buckley was a Partner at Apollo Realty Advisors, a leading private equity firm which has invested over $13 billion across more than 570 transactions worldwide, where he was responsible for business development, acquisitions and negotiating joint venture equity partnerships.  Prior thereto, he was a Managing Director and shareholder of Ramsey-Shilling Commercial Real Estate Services, a boutique real estate firm in the greater Hollywood submarket of Los Angeles, where he participated in over $1 billion in closed transactions across all property types.  Mr. Buckley earned a B.S. in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles and is a current member of the Urban Land Institute.

Daniel Broadhurst*

Previously, Mr. Broadhurst served as an Associate Director in the Turnaround Advisory business at KPMG U.K. Prior to working in the Turnaround Advisory business, he also worked in KPMG’s Restructuring and Financial Services Audit practices. Yew Khor*

Chris Codelli*

Mr. Codelli is a Director in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on assisting in operational due diligence and providing operational sales and go-to-market support to portfolio companies.

Mr. Codelli has over 30 years of experience in sales, sales management and sales operations within the technology industry with expertise across a wide variety of selling environments and go-to-market strategies for numerous technology companies including NICE Systems, Siebel / Oracle, Teradata, Apple and Hewlett-Packard. Previously, he was the VP of Global Sales Operations for Mirantis, an early stage cloud infrastructure software company where he built out and lead the sales operations function. Prior thereto, Mr. Codelli spent eight years with NICE Systems in various senior sales management and sales operations leadership roles contributing to the company’s growth from $400 million to $1 billion in revenue during his tenure. He earned a B.S. in Computer Science from The Georgia Institute of Technology and an M.B.A from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

Adam Fleming*

Mr. Fleming is a Finance Director in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on conducting operational due diligence and providing operational assistance and financial support to portfolio companies. Previously, he was the VP of Finance at 1010data, a rapidly growing SaaS company, where he managed accounting, financial planning and analysis, and sales operations. Chad Hensley*

Mr. Hensley is a Finance Director in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on conducting operational due diligence and providing operational assistance and financial support to portfolio companies. Mr. Hensley has over 25 years of accounting and finance experience across multiple industries with an extensive background working at private equity-backed software companies. Previously, he served as the CFO of Radixx Solutions International and, prior thereto, the CFO of Empower Software Solutions (sold to Kronos). In addition, Mr. Hensley served as a consultant to Plansource, Inc. prior to its acquisition by Vista Equity in March 2019. He began his career in public accounting and has held several key executive roles in finance, including VP and Corporate Controller for Arcadia Resources, Inc. and VP of Finance for Rotech Healthcare. Mr. Hensley earned a B.S.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi and an M.B.A from Mississippi College, and is an active Certified Public Accountant.

Anne Huemme*

Jason Connors*

Mr. Connors is an Information Technology Director in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on overseeing global information technology and cyber security operations.

Mr. Connors has over 10 years of experience managing and developing the information technology functions in various industries, including financial services, manufacturing and higher education.  Previously, he worked for an aerospace manufacturing company, where he focused on business process improvement and technical strategy.  Prior thereto, Mr. Connors served as a technology director at the University of Wisconsin Stout, where he led the student technical assistance and resources (STAR) program and was the primary liaison between full-time and student staffed technical resources. Mr. Connors earned a B.S. in Marketing and Business Education with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin Stout (Wisconsin’s Polytechnic University).

Allison Kuziw*

Mrs. Kuziw is a Senior Global Human Resources Manager in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on providing human resources support and driving HR/talent-related initiatives globally. Previously, she worked at Lloyd Group as a Human Resources Manager, where she helped establish a HR department and directed all HR activities for the New York and New Jersey offices. During Mrs. Kuziw’s tenure as department lead, the company was ranked as the 35th Best Place to Work in NYC by Crain’s New York Business.  Prior thereto, Mrs. Kuziw worked at Lenox Advisors as a Human Resource Generalist. Mrs. Kuziw earned a B.S. from Northeastern University and a Master of Science in Human Resource Management and Development from New York University. She is currently a member of The Society for Human Resource Management.

Ms. Bowler is a London-based Senior Consultant in Marlin Operations Group, Inc., focused on providing operational support for performance improvement, finance function transformation and systems initiatives across European portfolio companies. Previously she worked in the operational restructuring practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she specialized in advising clients on working capital optimization and cash generation strategies. Prior thereto, she was in the audit practice at PwC where she provided assurance services to clients within the insurance and asset management sectors. Ms. Bowler earned an M.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Manchester, and is an ACA Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Jonah Sulak

Mr. Sulak is a Senior Advisor to Marlin and was previously a Managing Director in the Heritage fund. His primary responsibilities at Marlin included deal qualification, conducting due diligence, transaction execution and portfolio monitoring. Prior to Marlin, he worked at the Sanders Morris Harris Group, where he led equity financings for technology, software and consumer businesses. Prior thereto, Mr. Sulak worked at the predecessor to Houston Ventures, where he engaged in the execution of several successful venture, growth and late stage investments primarily in the technology, software and consumer sectors. He earned a B.B.A. in Finance, with a dual concentration in Accounting and Spanish, from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin.
